The buying business group, headed by former deputy and entrepreneur Facundo Garretón, will transform the property into a “hub” for research and development of the medicinal use of the plant. There is expectation of a future niche for “recreational” tourism.

The Ministry of Health of Argentina approved the Exception Access Regime “to products containing cannabinoids or derivatives of the cannabis plant intended exclusively for medicinal use, either for the treatment of an individual patient or within the context of scientific research ”.

Spanish partners have launched a project aimed at developing the Extremadura region of the country as a center for industrial hemp innovation. The “Centro Tecnológico Agroalimentario Nacional de Extremadura” (CTAEX) and the hemp company Bhalutek Hemp affirm that the initiative will promote the development and integral use of the hemp plant, and will facilitate access to cultivation and transformation technologies.
